The University’s Emergency Management Strategy requires all University areas to have a Business Continuity Plan (BCP).

The immediate response to any campus disaster will be managed in accordance with the provisions of the Emergency Management Strategy. This Plan is designed to minimise the risk to human and animal life and the loss of valuable research and operational data. However, once the immediate impact of any disaster has been handled and the environment is stable, there is a need to establish some return to business operation.

The Crisis Management Team is chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and is responsible for coordinating ANU’s responses to emerging problems and advising the Vice Chancellor on action needed to resolve such problems. It also provides staff and external audiences with timely information on ANU action to resolve the problems.

ANU Risk Portal Goes Live

The Risk Management & Audit Office, in consultation with other key risk management areas on campus, has developed the ANU Risk Portal as a means for staff and students to access a range of risk management information and tools.  There are links within the portal that encourage the suggestion of links and general feedback on the site to allow the portal to evolve over time in response to user requirements.  The portal also contains a blog facility so that users can post comments or questions on any of the News and Events items listed.
